Paper project makes the cut He said the shredding program was an initiative of Freeholder Bette Jane Kowalski.
"This service is a cost-effective way to assist the county’s recycling efforts and help combat identity theft," Kowalski said in a statement. "This is a great opportunity for residents to securely eliminate clutter, while helping the environment."
The county contracts with Cintas shredding company to operate the service. Documents are put in 96-gallon containers provided by the company. The items are then dumped onto a conveyor belt and put through the shredder.
People bringing documents in for shredding may view the process over a closed-circuit television. The shredded documents are then re cycled, shipped to paper mills and used as pulp.
The program is paid for through funds from the Department of Environmental Protection Solid Waste Services Tax Grant. Collaboration to handle Indian River shredding duties The Abilities Resource Center of Indian River County and SESS Southeast Secure Shredding will be collaborate on the shredding services previously provided by the center.
The center has been providing document destruction to various customers for many years. The purpose of the service is to help fund ARC activities and to provide employment for individuals with disabilities. The collaboration will allow the center to continue to provide jobs for its constituents, save money and increase the quality, timeliness and security of its service. SESS is a certified, FBI audited, secure shredding facility that regularly shredding confidential documents of various commercial and residential clients in Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties. Celebrating National Night Out Safeguard Document Shredding of Manalapan, has agreed to bring one of their document-shredding vehicles. Borough residents will be permitted to bring two shopping bags of private paper they would like shredded to safeguard against identity theft at no cost.

The North Plainfield PBA will be hosting a barbecue with free hot dogs, hamburgers and sodas for all in attendance. There will also be party favors for the community’s children. However, the SEC claims that the tire-shredding equipment was not operational, and that there was no reasonable basis for Mr. Merklingers income.
Mr. Merklinger used more than $950,000 of investor funds for his own personal benefit, including payments for rent, back taxes and the purchase of luxury automobiles and watercraft and extravagant landscaping and furnishings for his home, the SEC said in a statement.
Mr. Merklinger also failed to disclose that he has been banned from securities markets in Ontario, Canada, for 10 years, the commission said.
